We spent a hot August week in New York City to catch several important art events that happened to coincide. The most important one was a huge Richard Serra retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art. We were also eager to visit the Hispanic Society to view a stunning group of murals by Joaquin Sorolla before they were sent on tour to Spain. In addition, we viewed two special exhibits that I couldn’t photograph: a Louise Nevelson retrospective at the Jewish Museum and “The Clark Brothers Collect” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I was able to shoot the newly opened Greco-Roman Courtyard at the Met and the Brooklyn Museum’s new gallery for “The Dinner Party” by Judy Chicago.
