On our way from Pittsburgh to Louisville, KY, we stopped in Cincinnati just long enough to have a good look at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Their collection has arguably one of the best works ever created by Catalan artist Joan Miró. Miró was commissioned in 1947 to come to Cincinnati and paint a large mural for the dinning room of the Terrace Plaza Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. The mural was later sold or donated to the museum. This mural, recently returned from a six month European tour, has been reinstalled in a well-lighted gallery on the first floor of the museum.
