The Pushkin State Museum Of Fine Arts consists of two major sections: The collections of Ancient Art and Paintings by Old Masters which are housed in the older Main Building, and the exciting collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Art which is housed in the newly refurbished Gallery which is next door to the Main Building. We made two visits to the 19th & 20th Century Gallery and could have made another had we the time. Much of the great art in this Gallery comes from the “nationalized” collections of S.I. Shchukin and I.A. Morozov. But unfortunately the labels for the paintings in this museum didn’t indicate from which collection the art came, so I couldn’t put that information in my captions.
