St. Petersburg is known as the Venice of the north because of its scenic canals. We had a beautiful sunny day for our cruise on some sections of the canal system and into the wide Neva River. It was a great way to get away from the noise and bustle of the streets and see some of the better sections of the city. Later we made a long walk and ended the day with a fine meal in an expensive restaurant.
